Service Description

Open studio access every Tuesday 2-6pm or Friday from 10am - 4pm. Book in 2 hour blocks - this is not a taught session. Skill Levels: Open to both improvers and experienced potters, this session is ideal for those who want to practice at their own pace but still would like occasional feedback or assistance. Studio Tools & Equipment: You have full access to studio tools and workstations, similar to members but you do not have a storage shelf and need to take your work and materials with you at the end of your session. We recommend a storage box with a clip lid to keep work damp between sessions. Materials : Clay can be bought from the studio, we have terracotta, college buff and white stoneware. If you bring your own clay we just need to know the name and firing range. Firings are charged according to size & temperature and includes use of studio glazes. Note: We do not fire pre-bought bisqueware. Bisque – 10p per 1cm3 Glaze – 15p per 1cm3 Use of house glazes is included in the cost of firings. If you bring your own glaze you must fire a test tile first to avoid glaze catastrophes! While it’s not a formal class, there would be an experienced potter or staff member available during sessions to provide guidance, answer questions, or assist with technical aspects like glazing or kiln usage. PAYG users will be asked to read and sign a User Agreement at the first session which covers all service details.
