Introduction to making a 2 part plaster mould with artist John Rainey. This one day workshop introduces the techniques and planning strategies involved in creating 2 part plaster mould for slip casting or press moulding ceramic forms. John Rainey is a Belfast-based sculptor working primarily in ceramics, with a specialist interest in mould making and casting processes. He is an Associate Academician of the Royal Ulster Academy and holds an MA in Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art, London. In 2023, he was awarded the Rosemary James Memorial Trust Bursary, which supports Northern Irish artists engaging innovatively with materials.
