Service Description
We are delighted to welcome Julie to the studio from Missouri for 2 workshops this sumemr! In this hands-on workshop, Julie will guide a step-by-step process for making a variety of custom ceramic stamps and rollers. Participants will learn techniques and tips to make carved personalized texture tools. Once bisque-fired, these tools can be used repeatedly for applying unique, consistent patterns to wheel- thrown, altered and hand-built pieces. Participants will leave the class with their own hand-crafted greenware texture rollers and stamp tools, as well as imprinted mirror test tiles. ʘ develop skills for carving custom-made stamps and rollers ʘ carve and make your own stamps you can use multiple times ʘ design and use a unique symbol or logo that represents you ʘ make stamps and rollers that contribute to layered textured surfaces ʘ create mirror image stamps for signatures, logos and extra flair Julie Simon is a proficient seasoned potter and instructor, with a proven track record teaching wheel throwing, hand-building and decorating techniques in her full-service studio and in several community organizations in St. Louis, Missouri.
