2 Saturdays 11th & 18th May 10-1pm If you are inspired by nature, curious about clay or have ever wondered how do artists get those beautiful colours in ceramics then this is the perfect course for you. In this 2 part workshop Jakki will guide you through each step of the process to design, make and decorate an animal or bird themed panel, the following week you will then learn how to use glaze to enhance your design and highlight texture. Impressing, incising, stamping experimentations designing simple animal/bird template - simplifying imagery, tell a story Create tile panel(s) using templates and selecting appropriate texturising Exploring glazing - application of semi transparent glazes on experimentation pieces. creating a harmonious and/or contrasting colour palette</li> Glaze final outcome tile(s) Established in 2016, Figment Ceramics draws inspiration from Jakki's love of nature and folklore producing illustrative ceramics that depict both real and imagined flora and fauna. Pattern and impressed decoration are an intrinsic part of Jakki's trademark style along with her palette of shimmering green and blue glazes. Jakki aims to tell a story in every tile and panel, taking the viewer on a journey into their own imagination. Refunds can only issued up to 7 days before the course or class starts. After this period, if you cannot make the class your course fee will the retained. However you may transfer your space to another person but please let us know of the change.
