Introduction to Figurative Clay Bust

Service Description

In this 1/2 day course, we’ll create a small hollow ceramic bust using slab building techniques. Explore basic anatomy, proportions, gesture and how to utilise body language to breathe life into your sculpture. Pick up of sculpture 6 weeks later. Pieces will be stained in oxides for you, or you can request that it be fired to bisque for you to finish yourselves. Limited seating of 10 students max, ages 18+ (minors accompanied by an adult). All abilities are welcome. Sandra Robinson trained to Masters Level at the Royal College of Art in London before returning to Northern Ireland to pursue her career as a full-time artist creating sculptures and painted commissioned portraits. She shares her passion with others during specialised courses at Northern Ireland Art Centres and outreaches creative art courses for various demographics such as mental health, learning difficulties or for people living with Dementia.
