6 week Hand-building Summer Class Afternoon session 1-3.30 Have you ever wanted to experiment with different types of clay? Join us for 6 weeks of hand building with three different types of clay. Two weeks will be dedicated to each of the following clay bodies: Terracotta Clay - a beautiful rich red clay that is ideal for experimenting with sgraffito using white slip. Grogged Crank - ideal for embracing texture or oxides. Black Clay - a distinctive clay that offers opportunities to explore slip and sgraffito further or glazes. Led by our experienced tutor, Helen Noble, this class offers an opportunity to embrace new materials and will encourage you to try something new. Helen Noble is a ceramic artist and part-time lecturer in Ceramics at Belfast Metropolitan College and Belfast School of Art. Having completed her MA in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art, London in 2011, she has a particular interest in and experience of working with glaze and colour.
